Physical, Cultural, Social and Mental Determinants of Métis Peoples’ Cardiovascular Health
In partnership with Saskatoon Métis Local 126, this research aims to gain in-depth understanding in the role gender, cultural identity, social support, and physical and mental health factors play in cardiovascular health of Métis Peoples. Funded by a Heart & Stroke and Canadian Institutes of Health Research Early Career Indigenous Women’s Heart and Brain Health Chair, Métis adults share conversations with researchers about the physical, mental, social, cultural, identity, and gender factors that influence their cardiovascular health. In a second interview, Métis adults share a symbol to represent their experiences with physical, mental, social, cultural, identity, and gender factors in relation to their cardiovascular health.
